Kunanyi / Mount Wellington
NewStars Elite’s ‘Tassie Tops’ event, is designed to complete a hike challenge in the changing terrain of the seasons in Tasmania.
For our Autumn hike challenge this year, we tackled a couple of smaller walks, starting with Myrtle Gully Falls. With very little rain lately, the waterfall was barely more than a trickle and we actually walked straight past it without realising we’d already reached it! After a couple more kilometres, we figured it out and headed back.
Next stop was kunanyi / Mount Wellington and the Sphinx Rock lookout. The wind was absolutely wild, so after a quick drive around we made our way to the summit for a walk, trying not to get blown away while taking in some incredible views between the patches of fog.

Advice
Always be prepared for your hike and cover all safety aspects of weather, first aid, flora/fauna etc this particular day was very windy! We had to keep ourselves on the trail.
