Rottnest Island

Rottnest Island is home to some magnificent beaches, bays and rugged coastline. We visited on a wild winter’s day, so while it was windy and rough, you could still see just how beautiful the island is. I can only imagine what it’s would be like in summer.

The quokkas were mostly around the settlement and happy to pose for photos, while the birds were a little too keen to steal everyone’s food!

The hop-on hop-off bus was a great way to explore the island.

Advice

Next time, I’d visit in summer, stay a couple of nights, spend the first day exploring by bus, the second day riding around the island to snorkel and swim, then relax before heading back to the mainland on the third day.
