Our visit to Werribee Park Mansion began with an evening ghost tour, exploring the historic rooms after dark and hearing some of the eerie stories surrounding its past.
The mansion was built in the 1870s by the Chirnside brothers, Thomas and Andrew, who came from Scotland and made their fortune through sheep farming and Australia’s booming wool industry. Their wealth helped create this magnificent mansion and its beautiful grounds.
We returned during the day for a better look, taking our time exploring the beautiful rooms, architecture and learning more about the Chirnside family’s fascinating history and lifestyle.
